Also note how each student ended their poems with a staisfying concluding stanza, in the mood of Lyon but distinctly his or her own.2) Today, using your Cross-Generational Questionaire and your Heart Map - you will try your hand at EMULATING George Ella Lyon's poem - Where I'm From.3) Please write your draft in a word document.4) In the last 10 minutes in class - use the file icon (green picture frame icon) to upload your draft onto your wiki page.5) When it has uploaded, type in your authorly comments: Example - Draft 1: I feel like I have a good start here. I am currently working on word choice and I feel like I want to polish the ending.
If the upload process does not work...don't worry! We will get there! I will be back to help!

Thursday: Finding your focus
"Concentrate all your thoughts upon the work at hand. the sun's rays do not burn until brought to a focus." ~Alexander Graham Bell
As author Ralph Fletcher describes in his book, How to Write Your Life Story, "If you're eleven years old you have already been alive for at least 4,017 days. Those days contain thousands of experiences.." Fantastic/furious friend moments, perfect/perfectly maddening parent pictures pop to mind, and a zillion other super/sad, silly, shout to the stars snapshot moments. So...how do you choose what to write about?
